Maxelâ Milan 2
After the landslide success of its opening in Villoresi two or so years ago, the new Milan Maxelâ had to be in the heart of downtown, in the streets that are still reverberating with the sounds of the Milan nightlife scene that exploded in the 1980s.
ARG decided to add lustre to the Maxelâ brand by opening on Via Moscova, this city's main artery where ladies flock for the most exclusive shopping and businessmen conclude their most important deals in the offices above.
It is the centre of a metropolis recognized throughout the world for its dynamic business climate and “Made in Italy” fashion sense.
The decor of the new Maxelâ is traditional, with plates on the walls and wood panelling on the bar and bread baskets made with straw paper bags (a cult idea subsequently adopted by many other restaurants). As you enter the restaurant, a counter set into the wall in front of the kitchen displays choice cuts of meat: succulent steaks that provide a sense of opulence, chops and T-bone steaks fit for royalty, long coils of Luganega sausage and spare ribs, liver and brains serve to frame the scene created by the butcher as he plans a new menu every day.
