Maxelâ Modena

Located on one of the major roads of Emilia, on the Vignolese road at S. Donnino, Maxela is eight kilometers from downtown Modena. In order to reach the gates of the Restaurant-Butcher Store with Inn you need to exit at Modena Sud, considered one of Italy’s most important intersecting highways.
The building has its own private parking area. It is a completely renovated 880 sqm building that gives its guests the opportunity of reserving a room in one of its six suites located on the first floor, which are furnished with extremely good taste, elegantly finished with period furniture and impressive curtains.
The Restuarant on the ground floor is divided into two rooms. The smaller one is used for business lunches and the bigger one has the restaurant’s feature item, the butcher’s counter; at the entrance there is the storeroom used for hanging meats with age-old wooden crates and a window display with rumps, loins and sausages hung on hooks that make for a beautiful setting.
Blackboards depicting various cuts of meat cover the walls and “drappi colorati”, typical Genoese words to describe curtains, are hung with simple clothespins on the windows. The Maxela of Modena gives its guests the opportunity, during the hottest months of the year, of dining in the outdoor area located in a discreet and quiet courtyard.
